Costs are easy to determine for a cash patient. For a patient with insurance, determining your exact cost when the expense is shared between the patient and their insurance company can be confusing and time consuming. Therefore, when this question is answered at our office, the amount stated to the patient is only an estimate. The final statement may be more or less depending on the amount of coverage as determined by the insurance company. No longer are there such things as 'standard' benefits. Dental plans are highly customized by the employer purchasing them and the variations are the norm rather than the exception. You would probably be incorrect in assuming all your dental treatment is covered by your plan. The best advice would be to read and understand your insurance policy and expect variations in your cost for dental care. We can do pre-estimates through your insurance company to help determine costs before major treatment begins.
